Personal Development Plan
In order to continue on the path of Doing Life Efficiently, I am currently working on a personal development plan. This plan will be broken down into a few steps that should be pretty simple to follow, but at the same time very effective and deliberate. This concept will not be focused on just one aspect of growth, but rather a couple puzzle pieces that will all fall into place throughout the journey.
Step 1
Defining personal values is when you take the time to figure out what actually matters in your life versus what is just noise. Personal values can be defined as the ideas that are important to you, based on beliefs and principles that guide your decision making. These values include integrity, compassion, honesty, and responsibility.
Step 2
Doing Life Efficiently means you need to have good time management, productivity, and the persistence to keep pushing through the hurdles you may come in contact with. Take the time to start setting up a routine, write down your tasks you have to do for a week, and see what you can achieve. You should try to track what you’re getting done for a week, and cut out any of the low value habits such as scrolling Facebook or watching Tik-Toks. You should also create a list of your top 3 priorities that you need to get done in order to stay productive.
Step 3
Personal growth is going to involve a handful of mini steps, don’t get overwhelmed by this, and work at your own pace. This step is where you want to focus on your health and learning new skills. I have recently began to listen to audio books because while I’m walking around the block or riding my bike, it gives me something to pay attention to and I actually find that I am able to exercise better. I would try to shoot for learning one new thing a month and multitask it with exercise to keep your energy up.
Step 4
This step is one of the most important steps in this plan, at least for me it was. You need to be intentional. Be intentional with your relationships, be intentional with your mental well being, be intentional with your goals, and be intentional with holding yourself accountable for making it all happen. You want to use this time to really focus on your goals and be mindful of the steps it will take to get them done.
Step 5
This isn’t a race to the finish line, this isn’t something that is going to happen overnight or immediately. This type of personal development is going to take some time, and you shouldn’t try to rush it. You have to take small steps to get your feet wet and then use that momentum to really embody what this means to you to be able to have a plan and improve on your life. We don’t have much time on this Earth and we really need to make the most of every moment, but it shouldn’t be a choir or something you dread having to do. A little bit of struggle and being uncomfortable can certainly pay off in the long game so just enjoy the ride!
